Juvenile Diabetes Research FoundationGK proudly participated in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) Toronto Ride on September 9, 2011 and on September 27, 2012 aising funds to help find a cure for diabetes. The one-day, high energy event was held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. Giffin Koerth rode within the “Insurance Sector Challenge Hour” from 1pm-2pm. The Insurance Sector plays a major contributing role to the event. JDRF's Ride for Diabetes Research is one of the most exciting and unique fundraising events in Canada. This fast paced event brings corporate Canada together in a friendly competition to see who can show the most spirit and raise the most money. Teams consist of five Riders, with each Team Member taking a turn riding a stationary bike for seven minutes over the course of 40 minutes. In 2010, 21,000 people participated in the Ride, generating approximately $7 million. The Toronto Ride is one of 17 taking place across Canada with a goal to raise $7.5 million this year nationally.
